Dr. Christopher Hubbard holds a Bachelor degree with First Class Honours in Australian Government and Legal Studies, and a Doctorate in International Relations and International Law, both from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. He lecturers in Politics, International Relations, Security Studies and Australian Foreign Policy. He also coordinates the International Relations Postgraduate Programme at Curtin.
Research Interests
- Australian arms control, disarmament and middle power activism.
- Public international law on the use of force
- The future of the ANZUS alliance
- Australian political history
I am currently preparing a research programme on the articulation of the growing market power which Australia’s uranium reserves is delivering for use as a mechanism to further strengthen international measures to counter the global spread of nuclear weapons technologies. This is the subject of a current ARC Discovery Grant application under consideration.
I am currently preparing a manuscript for publication as a text suitable for students of International Relations at the introductory level, cast with relevance for students studying in Australia.
