Chris has been teaching full-time in Information Studies since 1986. Her Arts degree was in Writing and Literature, and her Masters research thesis was about articulation between the TAFE and University sectors in the library and information profession. It looked at the processes which are in place and examined how students who articulate compare academically with those who did not.
Prior to teaching with Information Studies, Chris was primarily an academic librarian specialising in the field of technical services, in particular, cataloguing and classification. Along the way, she has also worked as an abstractor and indexer for a national database, a book indexer, contract librarian and research officer. The common theme, in what might seem to be a disparate list, is that all the work was related to the organisation and retrieval of information.
