Julie Brunner has a degree in Urban and Regional Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning. She began practicing as a planner in 1984 and has worked predominately as a statutory planner at local government level.
Julie currently lectures in urban planning at Curtin University of Technology, undertakes planning on a contractual basis for a number of local authorities and is involved in research with HURIWA. Her specific expertise is statutory and related strategic planning with specific emphasis on residential development. Projects undertaken include the writing of precinct documents, town planning schemes and scheme amendments, planning policies, and best practice development proposals for individual sites.
Julie has also been involved with bushland management, playground safety assessment and the researching of the impacts of urban infill development.
