Joy co-ordinates the Professional Practice units in the Secondary Education courses. In this position, she liaises with the Teaching Practice Co-ordinators in schools throughout WA, is responsible for the selection and assignment of university practicum supervisors and mediates in any difficult situations that may arise.
Joy also organizes placements for students who want to complete their final teaching practices overseas, particularly in Canada, where we have an arrangement with the University of Saskatchewan.
She teaches the Curriculum and Instruction units in Mathematics for Secondary undergraduate and Graduate Diploma students. Joy taught Mathematics in secondary schools and at TAFE for many years.
