Katalin Dobos is a Communication Skills coordinator and lecturer in the Faculty of Media, Society and Culture. Her background is in linguistics and in international student education. She has taught ESL in Hungary and in Australia.

She has a Bachelor of Commerce (Budapest), a Bachelor of Chinese and South-East Asian Studies (Murdoch), RSA Diploma Teaching English as Second Language (Edith Cowan University, Australia); and a Masters in Applied Linguistics (Hons) (University of Western Australia). She is currently working towards a Doctor of Education (University of Western Australia).

The Communication Skills program she coordinates is offered to mainly first year students in three Divisions of the University. The programme is designed to introduce students to the skills they need to research, develop their thinking, and make written and oral presentations at university. It aims to help students make a smooth transition to university study.
