Michele is the Pre-tertiary Head at the Faculty of Education, Language Studies & Social Work. In this position, Michele is responsible for the academic coordination and program development of the pre-tertiary courses offered by the Faculty.

Commencing her career as an English Language teacher in Singapore, Michele gained her Master of Arts, a research degree in 2005 from Curtin University of Technology. The title of her thesis was 'Gender-Differentiated Discourse: A Study of Teacher Discourse in the Adult ESL Classroom. Michele also has substantial teaching experience having taught in various institutions for the last nineteen years. In addition, Michele has also been responsible for materials development for a number of academic courses.
