Maggie has co-ordinated, designed and delivered English language programs in a number of different countries since graduating from university in the UK in 1994. Maggie worked at the Department of Languages and Intercultural Education and later in the Curtin English Language Centre as a teacher and program co-ordinator of English Language programs from 2002 to 2010. She currently co-ordinates and delivers English language development programs and a peer learning program for undergraduate students through the Learning Centre at Curtin.
Maggie's research interests include the role of teacher emotion in the teaching of culturally and linguistically diverse learners and the significance of empathy in intercultural competence. She is currently completing a qualitative study of intercultural teacher empathy for her Phd.
