Paul is the MA Applied Linguistics Vietnam Offshore Course Co-ordinator in the School of Education.

Paul has worked in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Oman and Australia as an English language teacher, teacher educator and administrator. He is an IELTS, CUTE and TEE Examiner. He is employed as a consultant by NEAS, a national accreditation board for language teaching centres for overseas students. For more than twenty years Paul has been a course tutor, director and assessor for the Cambridge ESOL Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults course (CELTA), a pre service teacher education course accredited by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate and offered world wide by different providers. Paul has had many articles and conference papers published. He is the Executive Editor of the EA Journal.

Research Interests

Teacher education, intercultural literacy, cultural identity and orientalism.

Research Projects

Paul recently completed doctoral research into music, cultural identity and literacy in a migrant subculture.

Paul lectures on language teaching units in the Bachelor of Education course.

Paul lectures on units in the MA Applied Linguistics and in the Graduate Diploma in Education courses.
