Design Interview and Advisory Session

All students wishing to apply for a Design major are required to sit an interview and provide a creative portfolio of work.

You should also attend the design advisory session. The session times and date will be available soon.

The Interview

Potential students will be invited to an interview session. This normally occurs during early December. You will be asked to bring examples of work you have produced. This could be your school Art or Design portfolio, or evidence of your interest in Design. This could be photographs you have taken, digital creations such as websites or drawings you have done. The aim of the interview is to create discussion so we can find mutually agreeable pathways for students wishing to study Design.

The Advisory session

The advisory session is in addition to the one-on-one interview. Design Advisory Session will be held on Tuesday 6th of December, 9am - 11.30am in the Elizabeth Jolley.

The session introduces the Design majors (Digital Design, 3D Design, Fashion, Photography and Illustration Design and Creative Advertising & Graphic Design) in a group environment. Everyone who registers for one of these majors will be invited along to the one session.
The purpose is to ensure that you make the most out of your degree by choosing to right major or double major to suit your goals and interests.
The session will run for a couple of hours. It will start with a general introduction and overview, followed by more detailed outline of each of the majors. Finally, the session will split into four separate groups - one group for each major - where students will have the opportunity to interact with the coordinator of their major, ask questions, seek specific guidance, and meet others who will be doing the same course.

What happens - When?

If you lodge your preference with TISC before 30 September, you will receive your invitation to the Design advisory session and interview time in December. If you do not receive notification of the interview date by the end of November, please contact Kandace Jenkins at the School of Design & Art on 9266 2273.
