Loren Dyer

2nd Year Student
Interior Architecture

I chose to study here because the degree is unique to Curtin in WA, and it seemed like a good balance of creativity and practical skills.

There have definitely been times of frustration for me, but even these can lead you to learn something about yourself and your work. There's nothing like a last-minute deadline change or submission shift to get you thinking about what you really value in what you're doing!

My major highlight so far was seeing for the first time something that I'd designed and made exhibited in a building filled with people. But there's also that wonderful moment you get every project where you finally understand what it is you've been trying to explain for the past five weeks- and just in time for submission.

The degree has not only developed my design skills, but also my presentation skills and my confidence in my work.

No matter what you're interested in as part of the degree, there's always someone there to help you along. Some of the staff can get right down to the details, and others can encourage you with your wildest concepts!

The degree is really challenging and lots of fun. If you have an interest in design, people and the built environment, it's the best thing you could study.
