Bachelor of Arts (Fashion and Textiles)

The reason why I chose to study at Curtin University was because of their reputation for the Arts degree: boundaries that don't restrict creative freedom.
The degree is well structured and includes a great combination of units, allowing us to take interest and develop skills in a variety of areas within Fashion and Textiles.

The highlights during my degree have been being able to meet and network with successful industry members and being provided with continuous support from academics and fellow students.

During my studies, the course has really taught me to push for thought processes, risks and not being fearful of mistakes, these are precious skills I can carry with me through my work after my time at Curtin. I am lucky to have been taught by many interesting lecturers and technicians, most of which have industry experience and knowledge to motivate students and support our ideas along the way.

Would I recommend this degree to others? Absolutely! The opportunity to combine design units with art units is invaluable. This degree broadens your knowledge of conceptual reasoning behind your work, allowing you to combine your understanding of processes and skills from both areas in fashion and textile design. I am confident, if you use this degree to the best of your advantage it will set you apart from other graduate schools.
