Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) Screen Arts
I chose to study at Curtin rather than a university closer to where I live because I felt that the technology and facilities were better equipped at Curtin, so I knew I would be receiving the best education possible.
Curtin is a great place to study because everyone is so passionate about what they do. The Screen Arts degree is even better than what I expected it be, so I am really enjoying my university experience so far.
The process of making a film is always exciting, so I have had a great time seeing film projects through from pre-production to the final screening and being able to be proud of the work I have achieved.
From studying at Curtin I have met some great people, and been able to work on external film projects outside of university study using the skills I have learned in my degree.
My degree has helped me learn so much about film production in terms of techniques and practical use, especially cinematography which I came to university to study, as well as opened up my eyes to the interesting side of screen studies and film theory.
The staff at Curtin have always been very helpful, especially the tutors and lecturers I've had the chance to learn from in the Film and TV Department - both the technical and teaching staff.
I would definitely recommend the Screen Arts degree to others because it offers a valuable learning experience that cannot be easily found elsewhere. I am glad I still have another year left of my degree because I am enjoying it so much.
