Prizes and Awards
These prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony at the beginning of the following year.
Department of Planning and Infrastructure Award for Transport Planning (value $200) - awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) making the most significant contribution to the advancement of transport planning through individual research or coursework activity.
Eric Lumsden Award (value $250) - awarded to the planning student or team of students undertaking the most innovative work in the sphere of regional planning, policy planning or integrated planning with particular emphasis on (but not exclusive to) the Shire of Swan.
Landstart Award for Subdivision Design ($250) - awarded to the student making the most outstanding contribution to subdivision design in the unit Site Planning 212 in the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) course.
Local Government Planners Association Prize (value $200) - awarded to the most outstanding second year student in the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) course.
Local Government Planners Association Prize (value $200) - awarded to the most outstanding student in the third year of the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) course.
Planning Institute of Australia (WA Division) Award (value $300) - awarded to the student gaining the highest academic standard in the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) course.
Sydney Stokes Prize (value $200) - awarded to the student studying Urban and Regional Planning who has made the most significant contribution to the advancement of rural planning through individual research or course activity.
Urban Development Institute of Australia Student Planners Prize (value $1000) - awarded to the student gaining highest marks in Local Planning Practice 211 of the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) course.
Graduate Prizes
Australian Association of Planning Consultants (WA) Award (value $300) - awarded to the student or group of students who produce the best planning project in either the Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning), Master of Urban and Regional Planning, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master Urban Design courses.
McLeods Prize in Environmental Planning Law (value $500) - awarded either to the student achieving the highest academic standing in Planning Law or a student in any course in Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin University of Technology demonstrating in written work an understanding of the need for initiative and integrity in planning advice to, and planning decision-making, by the local governments.
Planning Institute of Australia (WA Division) Award (value $300) - awarded to the student gaining the highest academic standard in the Master in Urban and Regional Planning.
Landcorp Award for Development Processes ($250) is made to the student or students in Development Processes 414 or 512 preparing the most creative proposals for improving the WA land development process
Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC) Prize (value $150) awarded to the student making the most substantial contribution to the field in the unit Planning for Accessibility in the PATREC-sponsored postgraduate programs in Transport Studies.
