International Study
The Department of Art has exchange agreements with leading art schools in South East Asia, New Zealand, Europe, USA and the UK.
During the last decade, Curtin students studied in the UK, the Glasgow School of Art, Middlesex University, in France at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts (Paris & Dijon), the Munich Academy in Germany, Burapha University in Thailand, San Diego University in the USA, University of Technology (UNIMAS) Shah Alam in Kuala Lumpur, Alberta College of Arts in Albert, Canada and the Institut Teknologi Bandung in Indonesia, whilst students from France, Germany and the UK have spent time at Curtin.
As one of the first Australian schools active in Asia, student exchanges have taken place with Chiang Mai University in Thailand and the Indonesia Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta Indonesia.
During 1998 a research group linking ITB Bandung, UTM MARA Kuala Lumpur and Curtin University School of Art (now Department) was established.
You may also wish to apply for the Antonio Ratti Foundation workshop in Como, Italy, which takes place in July each year. See The Department of Art for further information.
Many other international destinations are available through the University's Study Exchange programs.

Inbound Students
This semester 70 exchange and study abroad students from the US, UK, Northern Europe and Malaysia are enrolling in classes across Curtin. They will be ambassadors for their home university and country. Some will find the differences between our respective academic systems challenging, others will quickly become at home and all will add a further dimension to the classes in which they participate.
