Research
The School of Education has made significant impact at the state, national in international level in teaching, research and consultancy. Attractive opportunities for research and postgraduate studies as well as strong links with the government and private educational communities have been established. Experienced and skilled staff in many areas of education are available to lead postgraduate research and consultancy teams, supported by a strong and committed PhD and EdD programs.
The research focus is towards meaningful applied research in school, University and workplace settings. Researchers currently focus on :
- Qualitative approaches such as ethnography, interpretative research, action research, case studies, phenomenological analyses.
- Quantitative approaches involving surveys, interviewing, skills and attitude testing, secondary analysis of state, national and international databases.
- Interdisciplinary studies in conjunction with Curtin's Schools of Social Sciences and Asian Languages, Business, Health Sciences, Science & Engineering, Art & Design, Nursing.
- Collaborative research teams working on State and nationally-funded research projects.
- International collaborative teams e.g. with the University of Koblenz-Landau
- System-wide curriculum development and program evaluation.
