Elizabeth Jolley Lecture

The School of Media, Culture & Creative Arts, and Curtin University arer delighted to present the 2011 Elizabeth Jolley Lecture.

This year’s lecture will be given by prominent Western Australian author, Kim Scott.
Kim will present "Stories of Survival and Belonging".

Kim Scott

Kim Scott grew up on the south coast of Western Australia.  He is a descendant of those who first created human society in that part of the world, and is proud to be one among those who call themselves Noongar.  Kim began writing for publication when he became a teacher of English. He has twice won the WA Premier’s Book Award, the Miles Franklin Award, the Kate Challis RAKA Award and his novel That Deadman Dance also won the Vance Palmer Award for Fiction, the Victorian Premiers Literary Prize, the ASAL Gold Medal and the Commonwealth Writers Prize for South-east Asia and the Pacific. Kim lives in Coolbellup, Western Australia and is currently employed at Curtin University.
