Sarah Rosa Warren, BAppSc (Architecture)
“I feel passionately about cities that are well designed, not just at a functional level but at socially and environmentally sustainable levels as well. Studying architecture enables me to develop a skill set with which I can contribute to the built environment and the development of cities in a meaningful way.
I’ve loved the opportunity to study with a broad range of interesting and talented lecturers and tutors. The diversity amongst the teaching staff has challenged me to understand architecture and the built environment in a rich and varied way.
My proudest moment at Curtin was working with a team of students and architectural practices in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with the architecture school’s Global Design Studio. Stepping into a new environment and collaborating with other talented students to solve a set of issues far removed from my own urban context was both humbling and gratifying.
The field of architecture is so diverse and interesting. It’s clichéd to say but I really feel that it’s the sort of degree where the more you put into it, the more you take away from it.”
