Neil Kavanagh

As Chief Science and Technology Manager, Neil Kavanagh is responsible for the Woodside FutureLab open innovation program.

Graduating from UMIST, Manchester with degrees in engineering and management in 1986, Neil’s technical and leadership skills have been developed during roles in upstream oil, gas production and development in the North Sea, Brunei, Middle East and Australia.

Roles included Technical Safety, Major Maintenance, Operations, Subsurface Production Technology, Subsea and Well Engineering and Development Assurance, which culminated when accepting the role of Technology Manager in 2006.

Neil’s current focus is collaborative innovation partnerships under the following themes: Offshore Transformation, a Plant of the Future and an Intelligent Enterprise.
